b'FROM THE ARCHIVESRainbowsFollow StormsAs Hurricane Delta approaches the Gulf and in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebratethe resiliency of Don Juan and Doa Blanca Santos from the small community of Sector El 30 inthe mountains of Maricao, Puerto Rico.In 2017, Hurricane Maria ravaged the island of Puerto Rico. Don Juan and Doa Blanca were among the thousands affected by the storm. Without access to power and medical support, Doa Blancas life was at risk. Thanks to a joint effort by Operation HOPE and our HOPE Inside Disaster partner, AmericanRed Cross, HOPE Financial Wellbeing Coach, Erick, was able to connect Doa Blanca with the lifesaving medical device and care she needed to survive. Furthermore, Erick was able to help the couple access the resources to rebuild their home, which was badly damaged by the hurricane. As part of the recovery, Erick worked with the Santos family to disaster-proof their finances, built on a foundation of financial literacy. Today, Erick continues bringing HOPE to the entire community, empowering them with knowledge on budgeting, savings, and small business development.Operation HOPE stands with survivors. You can help support our ongoing recovery efforts in the Gulf following the devastation left behind from Hurricanes Laura and Sally and ahead of Hurricane Delta with a financial gift today.Don Juan and Doa BlancaHOPE Report: October 9, 20208 9'
