What type of experience do I need to have?
We are looking for volunteers in a variety of areas. While most of our work is with adult clients helping them to establish or repair their financial situation, we also work with small businesses that are looking for assistance in a number of areas, including marketing, IT, legal, Real estate, ecommerce, design, procurement, and other areas to help them start or grow their business. In addition, we are always looking for business professionals who are interested in working with our Youth program to help kids learn the basics of financial literacy and money management.
What is the expected time commitment?
To provide greater continuity to our clients and provide our volunteers with a meaningful experience, we would like volunteers to be available to support clients through pertinent issues/ challenges. Some support will likely require a minimum of 2 hours per client.
What is the approval process for volunteering?
It’s easy to apply to become a HOPE volunteer. You access our volunteer management system, complete a brief application telling us a little about yourself and the areas where you think you can make the biggest impact. All independent volunteers will be required to complete a background check and attend a brief orientation to become a full fledged volunteer. Once you apply, our volunteer team will review your application and make every attempt to best match you with your area of interest and time availability.
