CAU FRESHMAN SEMINAR — FINANCIAL WELLNESS
The CAU Financial Wellness partnership with Operation HOPE is a financial literacy program for CAU’s freshman class. Through a combination of self-paced online learning modules and a group coaching session in each semester, you will build real-world money skills that many people are never taught: how to set goals, manage a budget, build credit, and protect yourself from scams that target young adults.
This isn’t a lecture. It’s a hands-on program designed to meet you where you are and equip you for where you’re headed – as a student, and long after you walk across the stage.

Fall Semester: the Foundation
Every freshman will complete three self-paced online modules covering the basics that set the tone for everything else:
Once you’ve completed the modules, you’ll attend one required Group Coaching session with an Operation HOPE coach. This is where the learning becomes practical — through real discussion, interactive activities, and real-world financial scenarios you’ll actually face.
Spring Semester: Protect and Build
In the spring, you’ll go deeper with three more self-paced modules:
Once you’ve completed the modules, you’ll attend one required Group Coaching session with an Operation HOPE coach. This is where the learning becomes practical — through real discussion, interactive activities, and real-world financial scenarios you’ll actually face.

Skills That Outlast the Semester
The goal of the CAU partnership with Operation HOPE isn’t just to check a box for your freshman seminar. It’s to make sure you leave CAU – whenever that day comes – with the financial skills to make informed decisions for the rest of your life. Operation HOPE has spent decades helping people build financial dignity. Now that work starts with you, on day one
