Every journey begins with a single step, and for TyDexstine, that step was joining Operation HOPE’s First Time Home Buyers program. As a recent college graduate with dreams of homeownership, her path was initially clouded by financial uncertainties and a modest credit score of 687. However, TyDexstine’s story is one of transformation, guided by the expert support at HOPE Inside Knoxville Burlington and her financial wellbeing coach, Kristie Blevins.
When TyDexstine joined the First Time Home Buyers program, her goals were clear: improve her credit score, save for a future home, and manage her finances wisely. Through dedication and the guidance of Kristie, she not only enhanced her financial literacy but also took significant steps towards financial stability.
“I have been intentional about saving, and I now have $1,000 in my emergency savings and $2,000 saved towards my 3-6 months goal,” TyDexstine shared. Her commitment to her financial goals paid off remarkably. With the support from Operation HOPE, she saw her credit score rise to 716, unlocking the doors to new possibilities.
The culmination of TyDexstine’s efforts was a week of joyful milestones: marrying the love of her life and purchasing their first home together. “When I started with Operation HOPE, my dream was to purchase a home. I now have a 716 credit score, and I’ve been married for a week and just purchased our first home. I also paid off my car,” TyDexstine exclaimed, reflecting on her achievements.
“Thanks so much for your wisdom, guidance, and supporting me in reaching my financial goals,” she said reflecting on her new successes.
Stories like TyDexstine’s underscore the impact of financial empowerment and the transformative work being done at Operation HOPE. Through education, support, and guidance, we continue to unlock the potential within our communities, helping individuals build a brighter, more secure future.
Fantastic! Congratulations on your new home and all your hard work. And thank you Operation HOPE folks!
