Operation HOPE is proud to announce the expansion of its partnership with the T.D. Jakes Foundation through the launch of a new HOPE Inside location housed within the Thriving Opportunities for Returning Individuals (T.O.R.I.) Community Office in Dallas, Texas. The site brings no-cost financial coaching directly to returning citizens as they rebuild their lives.
Founded by Bishop T.D. Jakes, T.O.R.I. guides and empowers returning citizens to reach their full potential and reintegrate successfully into their communities, addressing the whole person across employment, education, housing, healthcare, spiritual guidance, and family reunification. The new HOPE Inside location adds a vital next pillar: financial empowerment.
The coach will offer one-on-one coaching focused on Credit & Money Management, with Homeownership preparation to follow, meeting clients exactly where they are in their reentry journey and walking with them as they build credit, reduce debt, grow savings, and work toward lasting financial stability.
“At T.O.R.I., we understand that successful reentry requires more than employment opportunities alone. Financial empowerment is a critical component of long-term stability and independence,” said Kelley Cornish, President and CEO of the T.D. Jakes Foundation. “Through our partnership with Operation HOPE, we are ensuring that returning citizens have access to the tools, coaching, and support needed to build credit, strengthen financial confidence, and create lasting pathways to economic mobility.
For returning citizens, financial dignity is often the missing piece of a successful reentry. By embedding HOPE Inside within T.O.R.I., financial coaching becomes an integrated part of the support system already trusted by the community. Clients can build a financial foundation that supports sustainable housing, employment, and family stability over the long term.
“Economic empowerment must be rooted in proximity and trust,” said Mary Ehrsam, EVP, President of Partnerships at Operation HOPE. “By expanding our partnership with the T.D. Jakes Foundation and embedding HOPE Inside within T.O.R.I., we are meeting returning citizens where they are—with coaching that rebuilds credit, restores financial confidence, and opens doors to a stable future. This is how we turn a second chance into lasting economic mobility.”
HOPE Inside is designed to empower Americans with financial literacy to help them reach the American Dream. It seeks to remove the barriers that have historically excluded individuals from financial systems, not through temporary relief, but through education, coaching, and long-term relationships. With this launch at T.O.R.I., Operation HOPE continues its commitment to embedding financial dignity within the communities that need it most.
