Honoring a Social Justice Icon: Mr. Harry Belafonte

Today we lost a true legend, Harry Belafonte. His passing is a great loss not only to his family and friends but to the entire world. He was a true friend of the Civil Rights Movement, and wholeheartedely supported Dr. King and Ambassador Young in their endeavors, and by extension, the Silver Rights Movement that Operation HOPE spearheads today.

Harry Belafonte was a truly a national treasure; not because of his fame, but because of his courage and commitment to making the world a better place. He was a shining example of what it means to use your platform for good, to speak truth to power, and to fight for what is right.

As we honor the life and legacy of Harry Belafonte, let us also be inspired by his example. Let us be bold and courageous like Harry, and let us work to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their dreams.
