WHAT IS EWOC
The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) developed Enterprising Women of Color (EWOC) to focus on the fast-expanding minority women entrepreneur population as a revenue generator for families, communities, and the nation. Minority women are the fastest growing population of entrepreneurs.
FACT: About 50% of women-owned businesses are women of color.
FACT: Women reinvest about 90% of their earnings into their families and communities.
While many women are making tremendous strides in the business world, they still face obstacles as entrepreneurs. MBDA serves as an advocate for economic empowerment by supporting efforts to advance equality for women.
Operation HOPE serves as an MBDA partner to provide support to women entrepreneurs – we are here to help level the playing field.

Operation HOPE believes in a holistic approach to small business which includes The Credit and Money Management Program.
Before banks make any funding decisions for a small business, they generally examine your personal credit – have a clean credit history without getting caught off-guard.
These programs will help pave the way for a solid foundation for your small business to take root and grow.
$2.5 million grant was awarded to the MBDA Enterprising Women of Color Small Business Program in 2021 with a focus on advancing women of color entrepreneurs in key growth industries including tech, exports, food service, e-commerce, transportation, and manufacturing.
